The Tennessee coalition was established in 1998 and has been a strong leader in advocating and supporting Eden Alternative practices throughout the state. In 2002, the organization was approved as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

The coalition has strong partnerships with industry associations and the Department of Health. They were instrumental in passing a state law to provide annual Eden grants to homes to support their need for Eden education and other resources for their journey. Of the few states that have grant programs, this is the only one that is codified in state law and therefore very protected to continue as a source of support. This is quite a unique accomplishment on the part of the coalition!

The coalition has also established regional support groups for the Western, Central, and Eastern sections of the state. These groups have been somewhat inactive recently however the coalition is working to breathe “new life” into these groups, as they represent a great opportunity for homes to access localized support and education.
