Minnesota is yet another state coalition making excellent use of its Civil Monetary Penalties Fund. The folks there are planning an educational Summit titled, "Regulation and Culture Change: How They Work Together" for October 10, 2006.

• Understand the principles and values of culture change and how it improves the quality of life and quality of care for long-term care residents – a goal we all are working together to accomplish.
• Hear directly from CMS and MDH – how regulations actually support culture change in skilled nursing facilities – and vice versa.
• Debunk the myth that quality of life and quality of care are in conflict, and demonstrate how quality of life and quality of care together produce better quality of care.
• Gain insights from success stories and lessons learned from providers and surveyors who are exploring the culture change journey together, in other words, how’d they do it?
• Know how you can make a difference in improving the quality of life for long-term care residents by actively promoting culture change in Minnesota.
Registration is on a first-received basis until Sept. 29.
