Today (9/20/2006) we are moving 80 elders from the traditional "Nursing Unit" to 6 households. They will be joining about 130 elders who preceeded them into 12 households a little over 2 years ago.

Last night one of the closing areas hosted a "bon voyage" party. It was very emotional.  Some of the residents have  lived there close to 18 years.  Families joined in. Staff brought in thier children, many of whom the residents know well because the children have been part of the extended community, the extended family...since their birth.

There are lots of great stories to tell. When the hustle and bustle of today is past, we will contribute those stories.

We have a wonderful, visionary Board of Trustees to thank for our good fortune.  Thru it all, though, the vision and values of the Pioneer Network has influenced the way we conduct ourselves. Thank you for being here.
